Photographer Wade Payne photographs Popcorn Sutton just hours before the moonshiners death.
These are images taken on Monday March 16th 2009 by Knoxville photographer Wade Payne within hours of Popcorn Sutton committing suicide. Popcorn actually started the Ford Fairlane in which his body was later discovered as Payne was leaving the property. Sutton ended the photo shoot early stating he wasn't feeling well and that he had an appointment. The famous moonshiner also requested that Payne photograph a grave marker he had specially made for himself. At the time Wade didn't realize he was taking the last photographs of East Tennessee's Moonshiner Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton.
