The Hudson kids use purple lenses to capture "Beauty".

Ok, Yes the kids here are pressed up against a wall with nasty over head lighting inside a dark elementary gymnasium to have their photos made but who cares, all 3 of my kids placed in the PTA Reflections Photography contest. After teaching enrichment photography at their school for a number of years they finally decided to enter the photo contest just this year. I was excited by the theme of this years contest, "Beauty is....." Reminded me of another contest just this past summer, "Take technology and make it beautiful." Ring a bell?  Maybe this is going to be a BEAUTIFUL year all around!

The kids all 3 did a super job. I actually took video of them taking photos.  I had to record then enjoying photography somehow while they were using my camera! ha!  One parent actually asked Grace if she really shot the image herself to which she replied, "its only one red leaf it wasn't really that hard to do"!  Cracked me up.  Anyway Miss Grace was in the K-2nd grade level and placed 1st with her single red leaf. Fitting for the red headed beauty I thought! Now the boys were competing against each other. Made me sad as their mom! Mr. Caleb placed 2nd with his macro flower shot and Mr. Lucas placed 3rd with his original idea of beauty being "Krispy Kreme Donuts".  All 3 images will now move onto the county level where they will be entered into a competition against other Knox county elementary schools. Lets cross our fingers that they make it to the State level next.  I can't help it, they come by competition honestly!
